Dennis Hunter Chairman
Dennis Hunter brings over 40 years of financial and entrepreneurial expertise to Ygrene. As cofounder and former board chairman of Sonoma National Bank, Dennis has extensive experience at the highest levels of the banking industry. He has led the development of over 35 commercial and residential real estate projects and currently serves on the board of a $100 million waste management company. In 2008, Dennis established the Global Legacy Foundation with the aim of creating real-world solutions to the problem of climate change. This passion, combined with his banking and financial expertise, led Dennis to develop Ygrene’s innovative method of PACE financing.
Stacey Lawson Executive Vice Chairman
Stacey Lawson brings 23 years of experience as a business executive in the areas of finance, clean energy, technology and manufacturing. Prior to joining Ygrene, Stacey was a candidate for U.S. Congress in California’s 2nd congressional district where she advocated for property assessed clean energy (PACE) as a leading environmental policy initiative. As Ygrene’s President and Chief Executive Officer from 2012-2016, Stacey spearheaded the design and growth of Ygrene’s innovative PACE model for the residential, commercial, agricultural and industrial sectors, scaling Ygrene to over $600M in originations. A cofounder of the Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology at the UC Berkeley School of Engineering, Stacey also has held executive positions at Seibel Systems and Parametric Technology, and cofounded InPart Design. Stacey holds a B.S. in chemical engineering and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
Rod Dole Co-Chairman
Rod Dole has 35 years of experience in public service with the County of Sonoma, including 25 years as elected CFO. In this role, Rod served as County Auditor, Treasurer and Tax Collector while managing the county’s $1.1 billion budget and over $4 billion in assets. Rod led the team that developed and implemented the Sonoma County Energy Independence Program (SCEIP), considered the most successful government financed PACE program operating in the United States today. Rod has spoken on the benefits of a successful PACE program across the country, including testifying before the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee in 2010.
Mack McNair Founding Partner, Virgo Investment Group LLC
Mack McNair is a founding partner of Virgo Investment Group. He has over twenty-five years of experience in the private credit markets and special situations investing. Mack is a member of Virgo’s investment committee and also serves on the boards of several Virgo portfolio companies: HPF Service (Chairman), Lease Corporation of America, NOW Account Network Corporation, Ygrene Energy Fund and Zippy Shell Incorporated (Chairman), and AgResource Management (Chairman).
Prior to helping found Virgo, Mack was responsible for investment activities ranging from senior debt to structured equity for the Principal Finance Group at Silver Point Capital, where he led the private-side investing business for the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Before joining Silver Point Capital, he was a Senior Managing Director at CIT, leading the firm’s national special situations coverage team. Mack previously worked in Wachovia’s Corporate Banking Group, where he originated, underwrote and managed middle-market bank debt and related products. Mack earned his BS in finance from Florida State University and is a former board member of the Atlanta TMA and the Charlotte Association for Corporate Growth.
Chris Casciato Managing Director, Lightyear Capital LLC
Chris Casciato is a Managing Director at Lightyear Capital and a member of the Investment Committee.
Prior to joining Lightyear in 2008, Mr. Casciato spent over 20 years at Goldman Sachs where he was elected Partner in 2000. Mr. Casciato’s most recent role was as a Partner in the financial institutions group. Mr. Casciato also held several additional senior roles at Goldman Sachs. Before joining Goldman Sachs, Mr. Casciato spent five years as an officer in the United States Army.
Mr. Casciato holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he was class valedictorian, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Martin Sullivan Operating Partner, Lightyear Capital LLC
Martin Sullivan is an Operating Partner at Lightyear Capital.
Prior to joining Lightyear in 2014, Mr. Sullivan was Deputy Chairman of Willis Group Holdings plc and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Willis Global Solutions. Previously, Mr. Sullivan was President and Chief Executive Officer of American International Group Inc. (AIG), where he worked for 37 years.
Kelly vanZutphen Ph.D. Director
Kelly vanZutphen was instrumental in Ygrene’s original formation and served as head of Marketing for four years. With more than 20 years of marketing experience including brand development, neuro-marketing, marketing communications and building high quality service teams, vanZutphen advises Ygrene in the areas of Marketing Strategy, Branding, PR, Service Delivery and Human Resources. VanZutphen earned her BS from the University of Colorado, her MS from Dominican University and her doctoral degree from Pacific University in pediatric neuropsychology.
